“A Covenant Prayer in the Wesleyan Tradition”
(Brian Carr Paraphrase)

I am no longer my own but yours O, Lord.
Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by You or laid aside for You,
Exalted for You or brought low for You.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, most glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
You are mine, and I am yours. So be it.
And may this covenant which I have made here on earth,
Be ratified in heaven. Amen.

Strengthening the Soul of your Leadership

Pastor Brian has recommended that we read the book “Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership” by Ruth Haley Barton as he will be using it for his upcoming sermon series. It can be purchased from, Cokesbury, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Target and Books-a-Million.
(ISBN-13: 9780830846450).

School Supply Drive

It’s that time of the year and parents and students are getting ready for the first day of school. This year, due to the circumstances, we will not be handing out slips with supplies. Instead to keep everyone safe, we are asking for monetary donations that will be used to purchase school supplies for Northport K-8.  You can send the money through the mail marked “Northport” or you can use the easy tithe app and select Northport in the choose a fund going to the bottom. $25 will be enough to pack a backpack for one student. We appreciate you reaching out and showing these families that they are loved in the time we are in.  Please make your donations by August 20th. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Pam Szymczyk.

Northport Partnership Update

The Northport K-8 School, our partner school, will open for classes on Monday, August 24, in accordance with the St. Lucie County School District academic calendar. We pray for the safety and health of the students, teachers, administrators, and staff as they return to the campus under very challenging circumstances.
The school plans to supply each student with a plastic refillable water bottle in order to avoid using the school’s water fountains throughout the day. As we all know, children will surely lose or forget their water bottles! We have an opportunity to gather some ‘backup’ water bottles for the school to replace future missing ones. Would you consider bringing in some new, refillable water bottles (20-32 ounce)? They are readily available in area stores like Walmart. And here’s another incentive: for the first TEN donors, anyone who brings in at least 8 water bottles will get a tree seedling from Rad Orlandi’s garden! (He has Royal Poinciana, Red Maple, and Goldenrain Tree seedlings available.) Thank you for your prayers for Northport and your ongoing support!

Disciple IV Under the Tree of Life is the final study in the four-phase DISCIPLE program. The study concentrates on Old Testament Writings, the Gospel of John, the Epistles of John, James, Jude, and finally, Revelation. Emphasis on the Psalms as Israel’s hymnbook and prayer book leads naturally to an emphasis on worship in the study. Present through the entire study is the sense of living toward completion – toward the climax of the message and the promise, extravagantly pictured in Revelation. Rad Orlandi will facilitate the study. IMPORTANT: due to the current pandemic and in the interest of safety, attendance is LIMITED TO TEN in each of the daily sessions, and we ask that you wear a face covering. You can sign up by calling the church office at 878-1155.
The completion of at least Disciple I is a prerequisite for this study. Disciple IV is a 32-week study. We will meet weekly, beginning Tuesday, August 11, 2020, with meeting times available in the afternoon (1-3 pm) and in the evening (6-8 pm). The Old Testament section will conclude on Nov. 24; the New Testament section will begin on Jan. 5, 2021 and conclude on April 27. Please order your Student Manual (pictured) as soon as possible and begin the daily readings in preparation for the first session! The manual is available through Cokesbury and Amazon (hard copy and Kindle versions).
